What is a ‘Drum Clinic’?
A drum clinic is an interactive live educational experience by a drum teacher. Usually, it involves short performances followed by a breakdown of the techniques and concepts used. I aim to keep the soloing and all that to a minimum but it’s kind of the ‘industry’ standard when it comes to clinics…in short, I’ll try to make it less about me and more about the attendees.
How it’ll Work
There will be two sets of seating available: the ‘Pad Circle’ (£10, with 10 available spaces) and standard seating (£5, with 20 available spaces). The Pad Circle will be a semi-circle of ten practice pads in the front row. These will be available for drummers who are interested in a fully interactive experience – we will work on sticking patterns as a group and will be likely to be invited to the drum kit to demonstrate what we have been learning to the rest of the attendees.
Standard Seating will be available for anyone who just wants to sit back and take it all in, they are welcome to bring their own pad & sticks, but I’ll be less inclined to encourage them out to perform in front of the group (though they’ll still be welcome to).
All ages/skill sets are welcome, but the topics we’ll be covering will be aimed at intermediate players. These topics will be improving your drum fills, showmanship, and if time allows, a short Q&A towards the end. The whole thing should last between 45 – 60 minutes.
Once you have filled in the form an email will be sent out shortly with details on how to make payment.
